Where two or three are gathered together in My name touching anything concerning Me, there I am in the midst to bless them” Matthew 18:20

These words formed the spring board for Elders J.B. Becknor, George Enoch, J.A. Strictland and the small group of believers who came together to form the nucleus of what we know today as the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Glengoffe, St. Catherine. On Thursday March 29, 1906, Elder J.B. Becknor visited the community of Glengoffe and formed the Glengoffe Seventh Day Adventist Company.  Bro. R.M. Rennalls, Bro. Robert Howell and Bro. James West were ordained and appointed to the officies of First Elder, Deacon and Treasurer of the Church respectively along with Alfred Simmons as the Church Clerk. Two months later a baptism took place adding five precious souls to the growing company. Some of the founding members of the Church were John Dacres, Adrian Gray, Robert Howell, Henrietta Lodge, Alfred Simmons, Alfred Simmons, Isadore Rennalls, R. M. Rennalls Chas West, James West, Isabel Woods and Joseph Rennalls.

In 1942 the Church was named as a member of the East Jamaica Conference and served there for approximately twenty years. In 1963 it was then assigned to the Central Jamaica Conference and has remained there since. The Church served as a member of the Bagbie and Bog Walk District of Churches until 2011 the church became the Mother Church of the Glengoffe District of Churches. As the population increased the little church on a hill could not accommodate the members and in 1997 the old building was demolished and the ground leveled to make way for a bigger firmer structure. Construction of the new church began in 1998 and we are still in the process of completing the edifice to the honour of our Lord. We look forward to its dedication and declare with ferver "Hither to hath the Lord brought us"
